Our Shag community realizes that the continuation of our lifestyle and community is in the hands of the younger generations. As such, there are many avenues of which Juniors can avail themselves for aid both financial and otherwise. Please, if you are eligible, research and participate on these wonderful programs. That's exactly what they are there for.
***Please also note that not one of these programs are based on, or applicants judged in any way on the length of time dancing or skill on the dance floor.***

Dewey Kennedy Memorial ScholarshipThe Dewey Kennedy Scholarship Fund was started in 1996 in memory of Dewey Kennedy who probably loved the dance, junior shaggers, and the camaraderie as much as anybody around. Although the idea and the original funding for the scholarship were started by CSA dancers as a way to honor and remember Dewey, the means to fund the scholarship each year since comes from various groups, individual contributions, and fundraisers. halloffamefoundation.org/scholarship
